Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 應用英語系口筆譯碩士班 === 104 === China is the most populous country and the second largest economy. Publications on China’s urbanization as a subject have become voluminous. If readers in Taiwan or China would like to obtain a dose of knowledge regarding China’s urbanization, reading through translations can be one of the workable and viable approaches to it. The permission of translation granted by Dr. Xue-fei Ren, the author of Urban China, makes this project possible. This technical report consists of Chinese translations of the three chapters selected from Urban China, and the applications of functional theories in Translation Studies to the processes of translating such issues as terminology, glossary of modern Chinese urbanization, idiomatic expression, word choice, and long sentence. Examples related to the aforesaid translating issues are chosen for discussion and analysis, which can also be used as references for applications of functional theories in Translation Studies. In addition, a glossary of Chinese urbanization is provided as seen in Appendix II to facilitate future translations of the books on recent Chinese urbanization.
