The Effects of Education and Knowledge of Traffic Safety on College Students’ Attitude and Behavior of Road Safety

碩士 === 國立屏東大學 === 國際貿易學系碩士班 === 104 === This study examined how traffic knowledge of undergraduate students and education of road safety at school influence undergraduate students’ attitude and behavior of road traffic. A total of 413 undergraduate students completed a self-administered questionnaire. Of these students, 166 from National Pingtung University, 155 from National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, and 92 from Meiho University. Using analysis of multiple linear regressions, the results of this study showed that traffic knowledge and education of road safety at school impacted positively attitude and behavior of road traffic. Considering the moderating effect of education of road safety at school on the relationship between traffic knowledge and attitude/behavior of road traffic, education of road safety at school positively moderated the relationship between traffic knowledge, however, education of road safety showed an unexpected significant moderating effect between traffic knowledge and behavior of road traffic. The findings provided several important implications for authorities, schools and undergraduate students.
