In order to design well performance wind turbine, it is highly important for engineers to understanding airfoil’s Aerodynamic characteristics and vertical axis wind turbine’s established environment, these two factors are main parameters to be considered. This study is by using of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to find out that Vertical Axis Wind Turbine’s Aerodynamic characteristics and environment factors in terms of influence on the performance, in this study the prototype is used DU 06-W-200 Airfoil profile. In this study results, take investigation of Turbulence model and grid independence analysis. It shows choosing k-ε Realizable in Turbulence model, and grid in y+ in set of indicator function; value requirement here must below 5. Then is aim at how the different environment factors and wind turbine structure design affect wind turbine performance. To increase VAWT’s efficiency in high Tip Speed Ratio, it can be seen increased rotating radius of VAWT or placed in tall building top floor, which benefit from tilt wind effect.
