This is a quasi-experimental study. Participants were obtained from one college in northern Taiwan. 60 people, aged 18-25 years female students with primary dysmenorrhea were randomly divided into the experimental(32) or control(28) group. The experimental group received 42°C water soak hands for 20 mins. The control group received 26°C water soak hands for 20 mins. The outcomes were assessed by rating dysmenorrhea severity on a visual analogue scale (VAS) and using the Short-Form McGill Pain Questionnaire (SF-MPQ) and Heart Rate Variability (HRV). SPSS for Windows version 20.0 was used to analyze the data. Data are presented as mean ± SD. Independent t-test and Chi-square Test was used to evaluate the significance of differences between two variables. t-test and ANOVA were used to evaluate and compare the pre and post intervention between group differences. The results show Non- significant differences were found in VAS and SF-MPQ and HRV (befor intervention) Between-groups. There was a significant within-group difference in VAS and SF-MPQ score change before and after the intervention. Between-group differences were found in 「LF/HF ratio」after the interventions. Within-group differences of「HR」、「SDNN」、「LF」、「HF」 were significant in the experimental group after the intervention. Within-group differences of 「SDNN」were significant in the control group after the intervention. LIU, CHI-FENG 劉吉豐 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 73 zh-TW
