Twenty-seven dragon dance players (age: 17.9 ± 1.6 years old, height: 171.6 ± 5.2 cm, body mass: 65.6 ± 10.8 kg, training age: 3.4 ± 2.3 years) were served as the volunteers for this study. The Biodex S4 Pro was used to assess the strength performance of elbow joints under the load condition of 60 degree/sec and 180 degree/sec. The strength parameters were included the maximal torque, average maximal torque, total work, and peak power. A t test for dependent samples was used to evaluate whether right elbow and left elbow differ significantly with an alpha level of .05. The results showed that the maximal torque, average maximal torque, total work, and peak power of right elbow extensor was higher significantly than left elbow under the load of 60 degree/sec. The maximal torque, average maximal torque, total work, and peak power of right elbow extensor/flexor were higher significantly than left elbow under the load of 180 degree/sec. It indicated that the strength/power of right elbow were higher than left elbow in dragon dance athletes because the regular training to lift dragon body in the position of right arm high and left arm low.
