Recent years, DaKeng hiking trails have brought a new trend of sports and at the same time given the locals great business opportunities. In order to fit the needs of hikers and tourists, many vendors start to congregate around the trails, selling hiking commodities, foods, drinks and local agricultural products. Many visitors view going hiking as visiting around traditional Taiwan markets. From the hillside to top of the mountain, vendors of great variety gather together; people are satisfied with special shopping experience. Foreigners who come here are all surprised by specialty of DaKeng’s local culture. The economical form of combining hiking trails and vendors has its particularity. This article tries to use Ecological complex attempt to analyze the reclamation of Nan-Guanyinshan and developmental process of vendors around it. In order to understand the activities of vendor around the trails, I will analyze the spacial patterns and explore the environment of trails. Also, I will interview vendors and try to probe into the relation between groupings of vendors and selling techniques to further examine the particularity of DaKeng’s vendor activities. The study found that activities of vendors in Nan-Guanyinshan Hiking Trail, is a way for consumers and vendors to against exploitexploitation from mainstream market. Researcher looks forward that this study can bring anothter thinking for people to regard the vendors on hiking trails.
