Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 科學教育與應用學系環境教育及管理碩士在職專班 === 105 === Establishment and Survey of Environmental Literacy Scale for Taiwanese Elementary School Students Abstract The Environmental Education Act of Taiwan has been enforced in 2011, it’s important for the government and the ministry of education to execute environmental education and promote environmental literacy of the public. The purpose of this research is to(1)establish the associated measures for those constructed indicators,(2)realize the status of elementary school students’ environmental literacy,(3)look into the relationship between Taiwanese environmental literacy and background. In this research,the environmental literacy indicators were based on the research last year.Questionnaire analysis is the main method used in this research. Taiwan area (including islands) is divided into northern, central, south, east four districts, a total of 22 counties. The data collection of this research is based on a random sampling. A total of 660 questionnaires of 1-3 graders were issued, and 447 valid questionnaires (67.7%) were collected. A total of 660 questionnaires of 4-6 graders were issued, and 422 valid questionnaires (63.9%) were collected.This research uses random level hierarchical analysis questionnaire, and the data are analyzed with statistical software SPSS 18.0. The Cronbach α of 1-3 graders is 0.889, and the Cronbach α of 4-6 graders is 0.866, which indicates a high confident level. The rank of environmental information sources of 1-3 graders is family, teachers, classmates and friends. And the rank of environmental information sources of 4-6 graders is teachers, family , inetrnet. In general, the elementary school students perform in the positive direction on the environmental literacy with a certain level of quality. Particularly, students have higher knowledge on the environmental ethics but less knowledge on the environmental knowledge and environmental action experiences, which is normal at this stage. Based on the above findings, it is recommended to the educational institutions that teach more knowledge of environmental concepts, specific plan for environmental action, hold more environmental activities, and encouraging students to participate. We also can use the media dissemination and the public media to teach students the correct environmental knowledge and concepts, in order to enhance environmental literacy.
