Many people are looking for the true meaning of life from the Zen within the paintings. It is the core issue of this paper. The characteristic of traditional Oriental ink painting is that people feel the conception of the painting from the real and imaginations. The Western painting focuses on the research of color, such as the use of primary colors, color purity, brightness, etc. This paper analyzes the aesthetic viewpoints of conceptions in ink paintings and colors in Western paintings from the perspective of image fusion. There are three parts in this paper. First is the common characteristics between Oriental ink painting and Western painting. Second is the analysis of the forms of oriental ink painting and Western painting. The last part is the discussion about themes of those paintings. In issuing the idea of painting, this paper analyzes the mutual relationship of Oriental and Western arts. Which contains the points of aesthetics and skills presented by lines and space in Oriental and Western paintings as the basis to analyze individual works. With the infusion of creative ideas into the tradition, the painting thus has a new life and the meanings of art are raised to another level.
