Previous studies have highlighted the importance of proactive personality in fostering individual’s career satisfaction in the workplace. In addition to personality, environmental factors also play an important role on career satisfaction. However, only few studies explored proactive personality predict career satisfaction in professional sports. Therefore the purpose of this study was to examine the predictive utility of proactive personality and social support on female professional golfers’ career satisfaction. Participants were 75 female professional golfers, average age were 30.19 years. After received the informed consent, they were requested to complete inventories that assess proactive personality, social support, and career satisfaction. Research data were analyzed by Pearson’s correlation and multiple hierarchical regression. The results of this study indicated that proactive personality and sponsor support positively predicted career satisfaction. The explained variances were 47% and 8% respectively. Family support, friend support, and coach support could not significantly predict career satisfaction. According to the results, the prediction of proactive personality was much higher than sponsor support for professional golfers. Based on the results, we suggest that providing education and training program for low proactive personality' golfers and letting them know to be proactive will help achieve higher career satisfaction. Moreover, Taiwan enterprises would be encouraged to pay more attention to female professional golfers and provide them relevant sponsors so that help golfers enhancing higher career satisfaction.
