Abstract
Shen Lin Taekwondo training center is located in TaoYuan. Due to the low birth rate, the number of children learning Taekwondo decreases dramatically. However, with the aide of the diverse curricula and childcare, the training school has reached a milestone of accommodating 150 students within eight years. The purpose of this research emphasizes the management methods of Shen Lin Taekwondo training center and the research questions focus on the strategies of managing and the pedagogies of the curriculum.
This study adopts qualitative method. Data is collected through three approaches including semi-structured interview, date collections and field observations. The data then is analyzed to conclude research findings 1. The coach in charge of the training center emphasizes the manners for students and disciplines the staff strictly. By doing so the coach sets up a good example for both students and employees. The publishing of monthly magazine and the students’ report cards win the parents applause and support. 2. The diverse curricula including major courses (Taekwondo and Martial Arts), the minor courses (Physical Training, Tennis and Body Combat) and the childcare (review schoolwork and homework). Due to the diverse curricula and the childcare, students not only practice physical training but also review schoolwork. Therefore Shen Lin Taekwondo training center is successfully managed by having parents’ trust and support.
