Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 體育學系碩士班 === 104 === In sports, there is nothing other than pursuing excellence and affirmation; and being a national representative is a critical benchmark. The researcher used to be an baseball player of national team before High School, winning championship in Pan Pacific League Series in Hawaii in 1975 and golden medal in the Senior League World Series in 1977. Afterward, he coincidently enrolled into National Taipei University of Technology and developed a different career. The paper adopts self narrative approach with qualitative research method and data analysis and attempts to investigate the athlete career transition of the researcher from 1974 to 2013. The structure of the paper follows hierarchy of self narrative from attending, telling, and transcribing experience to analyzing and reading the experience. The narrative-analysis patterns holistic-content analysis and reviews from an overall perspective to inspect those parts being ignored in the narrative and rebuild the in-depth meaning of career transition. Through analysis, the researcher eventually relieved from the burden of youth baseball dream and felt calm and optimistic toward future life career. The researcher showed an alternative realization about career transition: First, it is essential to be certain about career goal, fully using the “soft power” cultivated via sports, strengthening profession knowledge and skills, and grasping diverse opportunities. Second it is helpful to work outside of comfort-zone, accept challenge in working place, and open international development. Last but not least, home is a haven of life and the strongest supporting power for fortune. If it is able to properly do wealth management and allocate assets in the right place, one would be able to protect the family and one’s whole life.
