Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 兒童英語教育學系碩士班 === 104 === This qualitative study aimed to investigate the effects of implementing TQM components on the administration and instruction of a private educational institute.Thirteen staff members, including administrators and instructors, students and their parents participated in this study. Ten components of Sallis' TQM framework (2002) were implemented in this study. Data required were collected from the interviews with staff members, feedback loops, and the participatory observation. The findings of the study showed that the positive effects of the implementation of TQM are promoting collaboration and communication at all levels, enhancing staff development, obtaining positive feedbacks from customers, facilitating the process of tackling problems and promoting recruitment and opening innovation classes during the implementation of TQM. Furthermore, based upon the findings of this study, communicating quality messages, designating quality champions, and promoting teamwork are found to serve as the most significant components among Sallis' ten TQM components for the successful operation of the target educational institute. The findings further suggest that (a) communicating the quality message enhanced staff development and positive feedbacks from parents, (b) designated quality champions facilitated the problem-solving process, (c) teamwork vertically induced staff development and horizontally promoted internal communication between different departments, and that (d) implementing the three significant TQM components in the target institute was found to ameliorate better recruitment in this study. Based upon these findings, some suggestions are offered for private educational institutes and further studies.
