This research adopted action research approach, and 25 fourth grade students participated in this study. Students’ worksheets, observations, video recordings, interview records and teaching-reflected diary were collected for qualitative analysis. Then the researcher implemented the “Creative problem solving criterias“ as the quantitative data analysis. The main findings were followed: 1.The design thinking model was effective for developing the teaching program of “design for society “. The development of “design for society” teaching program was based on the goals, stages and strategies of the design thinking model, and synthesized the competence indicators of social studies and integrative activities. And then, developed appropriate instructional events for fourth graders. 2.After qualitative and quantitative analysis, the results showed the students’ ability of creative problem solving, social studies and integrative activities learning achievement were enhanced after applying the activation of “design for society “. 3.Via the cycle of action and reflection, researchers progresses on the curriculum planning and teaching ability, and was able to transform theory into practice.
