Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中科技大學 === 商業設計系碩士班 === 104 === “Zuò Bàn” means "to accompany" in Taiwanese Hokkien. If we look at the words separately in Mandarin, “Zuò” means “sit’, and “Bàn” means “to accompany”. Thus, Seat can be the starting point of building up the relationship. Also, it has carried numerous memories of life. There are lots of stories that we don’t know in Taiwan, which is such a beautiful island. But I believe that “Culture” is always from knowing the land and the people’s life. For this reason, I started traveling and finding the suitable material for designing the stool (a seat without any support for the back or arms). Here are three steps to conduct this work: I. Knowing the development of the Taiwanese traditional industry, such as Agriculture, industry and textile industry by reviewing several literatures. II. Making a field Investigation and seeking the available cultural materials for making the stool on traveling. III. Design and create the stool which is the most representative of local culture. As a result, the creation can react to the trend of the times in the cultural and creative businesses. In addition, I expect to explore the cultural characteristics of Taiwan even further with the conception.
