Mood swings, commonly seen during puberty, is the main factor in triggering conflicts. Through telling a story in which the teenage character seeks solutions to fix a broken relationship in his middle school life, the film is meant to resonate with audience about their own relationships. “FIX” tells a story of a naughty boy, JAY, who breaks his classmate’s pencil box, learning that a true apology must come from heart. Out of his mentor’s request, he attempts to make it up for his deeds but gets rejected twice by the classmates. He comes to realize that what he breaks is not only the pencil box but a relationship that can’t be fixed easily. Through the process of fixing the pencil box, Jay is restoring his relationship with himself and with others. The story is told from Jay’s perspective –the restlessness, ignorance, curiosity about the opposite sex –it’s a coming of age story of a teenage boy who learns to deal with relationships. The style of the film is natural and realistic. Cinematography-wise, a combination of tripod and handheld footage created visual dynamics from scene to scene. Production design and wardrobe were mapped out to suit the characters and the world they live in. Amateur actors were able to pull off believable performance through acting classes and practices. “FIX” was broadcast on June 19, 2016. There were 20 participants whom attended this show. We have received 17 questionnaires, 90% of the audience felt high integrity, 82% felt the warm atmosphere from the film. We got a lot of affirmative response from the feedback. I’m hoping the experience of this production could be used as reference for those who are interested in making films in the future. YANG,HSUAN-JUI 楊炫叡 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 82 zh-TW
