Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 視覺傳達設計學系 === 104 === Different effects are created due to the angle, distance and the light intensity when placing the three-dimensional shape under the light. Shadow is mainly used to reflect the stereoscopic impression of the objects and extend the visual sense of extending the light and shadow far. This study explores the characteristic of the changes in light and shadow and the dimensional shape, to provide references for future research. Focusing on the expressive forms of paper art, it explores the forms of presentation of light and form as well as the design pattern of paper in shaping by collecting the literatures and using the case study, which expects to combine the light and shadow with the techniques of paper craft to be applied in the design and creation. In this paper, the marine ecology is taken as the theme. Twelve series of dimensional light and shadow are developed to illustrate the current situation and crisis of the ocean, which ended up showing the sustainable development of the ocean. During the process of design implementation, the great calamity of ocean ecology now is reflected through the design of paper structure and shaping together with the changes in light and shadow, by which a series of dimensional creation of light and shadow on papers are developed. The findings are summarized as below: (1) Through the light and shadow shaping created by the designed paper structure combined with dimensional space, the light media enables the shadow to connect with the overall shaping to produce the interactive and interesting results. (2) The relative positions of light and objects under light will change the form of shadow. Besides, the complexity of the shape of illuminated face will also influence the recognition of shadow due to the different illumination form and light sources. (3) Patterns are carved by means of silhouette to form the visual style, and the shaping is finished by paper silhouette. The possibility of the paper structure is shown via the conversion of paper processing method on the plat surface and dimensional space. (4) The proposed creation can still show its originality on the planar media, which achieves the effects of exclusive space transform and three-dimensional modeling. More elements can be added to improve the quality and enrich the products in terms of technical level.
