The researcher finds that the students in this stage focus on peer relationship, and they are eager to show themselves and become self-centered. Therefore, the misinterpretation of mutual behaviors, being treated in low regard by peers , lack of empathizing ,“respect” and “care” each other are the main reasons leading to the conflicts on campus. The researcher chooses “respect” and “care” as the core value of the character education in this project to teach students and to build up their abilities of independent thinking and problem-solving. The study, conducted by action research, places 60 eighth-graders in others’ shoes and designs 10 lesson plans based on action study to explore and record. It means that students are required to act out the roles in fabricated episodes during the process of discussion and debate over the moral issues. A peer teaching accompanies theatrical education brings on sustainable behaviors and intrigue deeper reflections on moral subjects. Along with the process of study, data and statistics are constantly collected from researcher’s observation and reflection, co-observers’ suggestions, and students’ responses, such as oral feedback, answer sheets and the questionnaires. A flexible and reflective attitude is advised for those unexpected problems perhaps should be tackled by the rearrangement of the programs and strategies. The result of this study indicates that the students can really benefit from the program. Due to the application of the Image Theatre approaches, teachers can encourage students to align themselves with others to develop their critical thinking in what “respect” and “care” really are and finally to extract their suitable and sustainable stance to these moral issues. Hope that these conclusions and suggestions can serve as references for further studies in this field. LI,CHYI-CHANG 李其昌 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 321 zh-TW
