Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 工業管理系 === 104 === In recent years, the improvement of technology and internet connection quality are resulting people has no limitation of time and space. By the integration of computer and mobile communication device with the cloud technology makes people easy to enter and do their activity in the virtual space at the same time without any border. Nowadays, the change of people’s habit in surfing the internet, such as using different device size or resolution caused the new demand of website design. Responsive Web Design (RWD) came up to simplify the development of website, which is by developing one RWD website, it could fit in varied sizes or resolutions of the display. People usually use internet to search for information, but they face problems related to the overload information in the website. This research discusses the issues of information search and mental workload from the users when using the RWD website menu design and its transition in different devices due to the screen size adjustment, amount of information, and hierarchy. Those can lead the user unable find the target. The experiment of this research applied two mixed factorial design, by proceeding information searching task and measuring physiological data of 30 participants. The result shows that users have to slide the screen when the expansion of menu information is too much. It would affect users’ searching performance and subjective assessment. On the contrary, the design with less menu information expanded would have better searching performance and subjective assessment. This discovery can be a reference for the website designer in the future.
