However, the impacts of the system are extremely important after the wind farms connected to the transmission system. This thesis focuses on analyzing Flexible Alternating Current Transmission Systems (FACTS) that can improve stability of the power system with wind farms in the regional transmission network. This thesis determined the proper size and location for the reactive power compensator in the system by Applying voltage stability analysis and appropriate searching methods. The proposed methods in this thesis tested in the cases of the IEEE 14 bus system, IEEE 30 bus system and Taipower Eastern Power System for simulation and verification. The thesis used ETAP to analyze the variations of voltage and utilized Matlab/PSAT (Power System Analysis Toolbox) to estimated the effect in the Static Var Compensator (SVC) and Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) for the system. The research results showed that STATCOM and SVC can really improve dynamic characteristics of the system at the fault interference. They can serve as the reference and application for planning and setting of FACTS and impact study of power systems connected with wind farms. Ming-Tse Kuo 郭明哲 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 123 zh-TW
