Chopin was known for composing changeable and dramatic contrast in Ballade. This research is based on the most difficult and dramatic part of “Ballade No. 4, Op. 52”. It focuses on analysis and interpretation. The first part explores the pattern and form of Ballad by its origin and transformation. The second part simply discusses Chopin’s background and musical style. In order to understand how Chopin formed the style of Ballade. The final is the main point of this research. This chapter divides “Ballad No. 4, Op. 52” into different phrases, analyzes the motivation, element, and harmonic progress. behind the phrases. Based on this analysis, reader can improve their musical interpretations and technical problems.
