| Summary: | 碩士 === 南臺科技大學 === 休閒事業管理系 === 104 === Tourism can improve the quality of life and influence the way of life (Puczko & Tamara, 2000). However, the residents’ attitudes will influence the level of the community’s development (Kao & Stewart, 2002). Above all of the motives, the study discusses the residents’ cognitions that caused by the development of tourism impact in Beimen District in Tainan and understand the residents’ attitudes towards the development of tourism.
The way of research was retraced via the relevant documents. The researcher used participant observation and establishes the direction of interview. Then, the researcher invited and interviewed deeply with nine residents who are familiar with the community’s affairs. After that, analyzed and induced the influence of the tourism’s development for residents.
Results of this research are following: the tourism impacts bring positive and negative cognitions for residents, but the seriously negative impact is “the problems of traffic and trash were caused by the development of tourism”.
According to the results of research, propose practical suggestions for the tourism’s development in Beimen District, to discuss how to promote the positive impacts of the tourism and decrease the negative impacts. The research can be a suggestion for the government and relevant departments to plan the development of tourism and improve the management in Beimen District. It also can be a reference for promoting the tourism along the coast in the future.
