Abstract
Under the influence of the Christian indigenization, the lifestyle of indigenous people in Taiwan has changed. It explodes into two aspects, which are “The Cultural Revitalization of Indigenous” and “Christian Wedding Ceremonies”. The purpose of the research is based on the relationship between these two aspects, which aim to understand:
1. To affirm the role of double qualification with the indigenous culture and the Christianity: Knowing the influence of the role is to identify and state the faith, culture, and self-identity.
2. To express that wedding worship explodes the meaning of the gospel. Through the process of the wedding worship, people receive the teaching of the gospel.
3. To deliver the importance of cultural inheritance: Through the traditional wedding, people understand the inheritance of virtue and how important it is to inherit the culture for the indigenous.
4. The indigenous with the role of double qualification proclaims the relationship between themselves and the process of the wedding. The author looks forward to seeing the relationship building between the gospel and the culture and is due to build a bridge connecting each tribe developing cultural and religious inheritance. Therefore each tribe could view the mission feasibility and develop the delivery of gospel and mission strategies.
5. The process that we see the gospel and the church enculturate into a certain cultural group is called indigenization. Nowadays we call it contextualization constantly. The author looks forward to seeing the opportunities of indigenization and contextualization of the gospel.
