The speculation of the reason is; curators are unable to fully apply to the User Centered Design (UCD) thought to plan exhibitions, under such circumstance; the exhibitions cannot meet the visitors’ expectation. Nowadays, although the exhibition assessment has been valued gradually, there are also many related theories and writings. But the detection for implementing exhibition efficiency assessment with design viewpoint is very few, particularly; the UCD Perspective has not been used as the detection core. The exhibition center with excellent efficiency not only can advance the positive image of the institution, even stands for the important meanings of our country’s image and competitiveness. Therefore, this research assesses the exhibition efficiency of Taipei Palace Museum with the UCD Perspective. This research adopts three kinds of visitors’ perception scale including “visual perception”, “function perception” and “meaning perception”, which are the foundation of UCD, and the assessment questionnaire is established aiming at “Exhibition Efficiency” and “Exhibition Marketing Efficiency” to detect the entire “exhibition efficiency” of Taipei Palace Museum. The result show that except the exhibition way of Taipei Palace Museum must be improved a little bit, the other presentations are remarkable, furthermore, the correlation between “exhibition efficiency” and “exhibition marketing efficiency” is significant, especially, the “meaning perception” of the visitors from the exhibition with regard to the influence of “exhibition marketing efficiency” including the institutional image, the purchase willing on gift and souvenir and visiting experience sharing, which are much higher than “visual perception” and “function perception”. By using the assessment tool can fully understand the visitors’ perception about the exhibition, as well as the exhibition efficiency and exhibition marketing efficiency, moreover, the result can be the basis for curatorial institutions to plan or improve exhibitions in the future.
