The PdHCF particles were deposited on GO modified GCE using an electrochemical method, and the GR/β-CD/PPy composite was synthesized by the typical chemical oxidation of PPy monomer in GR/β-CD solution using FeCl3 in form of electrode. The electrocatalytic measurements and surface morphology of the as prepared composite modified electrode were studied using Differential pulse voltammetry, cyclic voltammetry, amperometry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The presence of GO with PdHCF has greatly enhanced the surface coverage concentration and electron transfer rate constant when compared to only PdHCF and GO, and GR/β-CD/PPy composite modified SPCE has high sensitivity towards Hg(II) than that of bare, GR, GR/β-CD and PPy modified SPCEs. The composite modified electrode shows the linear range from 8 to 240 μM for NIC with the analytical sensitivity of 1.208 μAμM-1cm-2, and GR/β-CD/PPy composite modified SPCE could detect the Hg(II) up to 51.56 µM with the limit of detection (LOD) of 0.47 nM.
