In order to reduce turnover rate, the employer must first understand the factors of affecting turnover intention. There are many factors influencing turnover intention and one of the factors is leadership styles. But the literature on the investigation of the relationship between leadership styles and turnover intention is relative few. This study attempted to explain the role of team cohesion among the leadership styles and the turnover intention. In order to reduce turnover intention, this study also attempted to elucidate that we should not overlook the influences of team cohesion besides focusing on leadership style. The subjects were 300 securities brokers from a security company. Two hundred and twenty responses from 220 brokers were deemed valid. Through structural equation modeling analysis, it was found that transformational and transactional leadership styles had significantly positive effect on team cohesion, team cohesion had significantly negative effect on turnover intention, transformational leadership style had significantly direct negative effect on turnover intention, team cohesion had partially mediated effect between transformational leadership style and turnover intention, and team cohesion had fully mediated effect between transactional leadership style and turnover intention.
