Watertight powder is quite different from conventional waterproofing materials which are all in bulk form, and is strongly water-repellent and has no cracking problem due to aging. In this work, the powder is studied for characterization of its water-repellent properties. Falling-head permeability test based on Darcy’s law is adapted and modified for characterizing the permeability of a powder material. Watertight powder is tested and its permeability parameters are obtained.
