Summary: | 碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 應用外語系 === 104 === The purpose of this study was to investigate whether students’ reading motivation and reading attitude affect their reading comprehension or not. In addition, the researcher would like to observe the relationships among reading comprehension, reading motivation, and reading attitude. The participants of this study were 74 male first graders from two classes at a national vocational high school in southern Taiwan.
The researcher evaluated the participants’ performance by using the Pearson Correlation to investigate the relationships among reading comprehension, reading motivation, and reading attitude for 12 weeks, after she had the participants do the TOEIC reading comprehension test.
Although the result of the participants’ reading attitude didn’t show any difference after finishing training, the relationship between their reading motivation and reading comprehension was significant. Also, pedagogical implications and suggestions for future studies were provided.
