Preparation of Composite Catalysts with Bismuth Oxide and Titanium Dioxide to Photodegrade Aqueous Toxic Organic Compound of Bisphenol A

碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 環境與安全衛生工程系 === 104 === The titanium dioxide and bismuth oxide with different molar ratio of Bi and Ti were prepared as Bi2O3/TiO2 composite photocatalyst in this study. Properties of photocatalysts were characterized by XRD, SEM, UV-Vis, BET and FT-IR. These Bi2O3/TiO2 composite...

Properties of photocatalysts were characterized by XRD, SEM, UV-Vis, BET and FT-IR. These Bi2O3/TiO2 composite photocatalysts were filled in the columns with continuous-flow system to explore the degradation of bisphenol A (BPA) under different artificial light (UV and simulated sunlight). In XRD results, Bi2O3/TiO2 composite photocatalyst were stable and no produce impurity crystallization were found. Then, the result of UV-Visible indicated that Bi2O3/TiO2 composite photocatalysts have second absorption wavelength in visible zone when molar ratio of Bi and Ti was more than 2.0 mole %. The degradation of BPA using Bi2O3/TiO2 photocatalyst (Bi/Ti = 4.0 mole %) were 84.1% and 96.2 % under UV and simulated sunlight, respectively. Moreover, the degradation of BPA using Bi2O3/TiO2 photocatalysts were more efficient than using TiO2. The durability test of ten repeated experiments was maintained effectively and reusability because of only 3% decline. The biotoxicity using Microtox analysis was indicated that the biotoxicity of BPA was degraded and the acute toxic unit (TUa) was decreased obviously. To sum up, the Bi2O3/TiO2 photocatalysts improved the photocatalytic performance through the photoinduced electron transfer efficient separation of electron-hole pairs.
