Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 建築與室內設計系 === 104 === This research focuses on the Exterior Building Enclosure System of the official masonry building in the Japanese colonial period in Taiwan from its constitutive principles and material selection. The proposed of this research is to systematically understand the basic knowledge of the building form by analyzing the Exterior Building Enclosure System. And it can be further divided into two parts, drawing analysis, and construction specification analysis, by the knowing about the building forms, construction methods, and application of the material. The results of this research are as follows: 1. The general characteristic of Exterior Building Enclosure System of the masonry building in Japanese colonial period in Taiwan. (1) Exterior Building Enclosure of buildings can be characterized as “Building has no semi-outdoor space” and “Building has semi-outdoor space”. It has 8 different types of building forms and then further on developed into another 35 different types. (2) Based on the combination relation of architectural elements, such as floor, external wall and roof, there are 8 different types. 2. The forms and materials of joint of the Exterior Building Enclosure System. (1) The types of joint and their combinational methods: (a) The joint of exterior walls and roof has four different types. (b) Two types of opening on to the header: A-1 and A-2, and four types of opening on to the sill: B-1, B-2, B-3, and B-4. (c) The joint of the building floor and the external wall has three types: Segment type, Continuous type, and Unit type. (2) The principle of material application and selection of the exterior building enclosure system of the masonry building. (a) Flooring materials from the types and the frequency of the use of material high to low are “Fieldstone slab to Concrete slab”, “Rammed earth”, and “Brick and Tile”. (b) Upper walling materials are primary cement mortar plastering (22.4%), aggregate exposed finish (20.4%), plaster finish (16.3%); Lower walling material are predominately aggregate exposed finish (50%) and cement mortar (34.3%).(c) Sloping roofs are mainly using Japanese clay (roof ) tiles, asbestos slates and metal/sheet-metal roofing on the slope of 5/10 to 6/10, and metal or sheet-metal roofing are used in the slope of 2/10 to 3/10, so it can seem that the selection roofing materials and the slope has clear correlation. The material used in low-slop roof is a waterproof layer with tiles or waterproof plaster finish in a slope of 5.5 degrees and one-thirtieth pitch.
