It also will change as the expansion and renewal of the city. The landscape's change is an unavoidable process. We enter the generation of the global village due to the overloaded information, convenient transportation and the "small" world we have today. The city's own culture will be influenced by the invasion of the foreign culture and globalization. The landscape writing is a kind of literature about landscape . Landscape covers a lot. It not only involves the visible sight of the place, rivers, geography and architecture but also includes the invisible history and humanity. The writer's literature which describes the place's environment, local history and residents' own lifestyle help build the sense of place .This kind of literature can touch readers easily, helping them resonate and grow the local identity. Taichung city has developed since the colonization of the Japan government. The core development which is located at Central District today was prosperous when Japan ruled Taiwan. However, the population at the Central District moved out rapidly due to the city planning which was meant to help balance the city's development. The change of business and political center hurt Central District. The issue of losing population at Central District keeps weaking the sense of place which has accumulated since the colonization of Japan .This study explores the sense of place from Taichung city by analyzing history, space, and memories in Taichung landscape writing and review the development of Taichung City.
