The proponent has achieved his personal vision by making his crowdfunding plan known to the public and providing relevant feedbacks to gain the recognition and support of sponsors. The crowdfunding platform during the process is the only means for bridging communication between the case proponent and sponsors. Hence, platform services and interfaces have a profound influence on the choices of the two major users. The largest crowdfunding platform in Asia flyingV was adopted in this study as the case research subject. Through the two main focuses, namely, platform services processes and website interface design, the users’ needs were explored. In order to discuss the hidden elements behind the crowdfunding platform operations, in the first stage of this study, flyingV platform operators were invited to join in-depth interviews. Based on the interview results, service blueprinting was established to facilitate service visualization. Additionally, through the touch points, the potential elements with development potential were analyzed and explored, which were then converted into interview questions in the succeeding stage; in the second stage, interviews with users were carried out. Through in-depth interviews with three proponents and the focus group meeting made up of six sponsors, four dimensions of the proponents and sponsors’ needs were summarized for analysis and discussion. Five service strategies were proposed according to the final research results, including the following: (1) establish a platform for experience sharing; (2) strengthen the core concept and positioning of the platform; (3) optimize usage; (4) develop APPs on mobile devices; (5) give emphasis to small-scale sponsors. Meanwhile, based on the potential problems and needs found during the research process, recommendations related to the interface design elements were put forth and the interface design of the new website version was proposed, with hopes of perfecting the overall use experience of the crowdfunding platform.
