The purpose of the study is to understand the purpose and the degree of satisfaction of the mainlanders coming to Taiwan to travel and have a health check-up. The study uses a questionnaire and an interview as instruments to collect quantitative and qualitative data. 22 mainlanders participated in the study. Their main purpose of coming to Taiwan is to have a health check-up and travel. The results show high degree of satisfaction in medical equipment and facility, professional medical skills, great service attitude, convenient traffic and reasonable price. They all would like to come back to Taiwan again, but they are not satisfied with the inconvenience of getting a visa and limitations in some policis. The Taiwanese government needs use the strengths and opportunities to stimulate medical tourism industry and increase Taiwanese international visibility. It is hope this study can help Taiwan reach the goal of “Foreign customers coming to Taiwan, Taiwanese medical groups traveling abroad”.
