碩士 === 元智大學 === 中國語文學系 === 104 === Summary The term of the Chinese "Fiction" is originally from Ban Gu’s "Han Dynasty History", "The Sect of Fiction is from local Anecdote; Street Talk, and Hearsay." And after thousands of year’s development, it change from short legends to novels in chapters during Ming and Qing Dynasties, the content also change from simple to complex. After Ming and Qing Dynasties, with the economic development, the novels topics are not only limited to the mythological gods, but gradually to the real world. Lu Xun raised "Human Nature Novel" this category in his book "History of Chinese Fiction". In recent years researchers have categorized "Family Fiction" for novels which related to family life, and focus the research topic on it. This thesis will use the classic fiction "Golden Lotus" as subject, and study the family structure and its division of power. "Golden Lotus" or "Jin Ping Mei" is the earliest fiction retained which use family life as main subject. The book contains a lot of lust description so it has been criticized by intellectuals of Confucianism for a lone time, they think the book does not educate people, but spread the thought of obscenity. However, if you read it simply in an artistic point of view, you will find "Jin Ping Mei" this book is extremely good in terms of characteristic and story structure arrangements. You can also find unique cultures and regulations in a specific dynasty from details within the book. It has the meaning to inherit the past and usher in the future. The thesis will focus on "Human", "Space" and "System" these three topics. And discuss the plural family structure under male-dominated society which displayed in "Golden Lotus"; as well as the issue of power division within the family under such historical background.
