碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 會計與資訊科技研究所 === 105 === Based on the golfing activities data of CEOs of S&P 1500 firms, this study, examines the effect CEO’s golfing activities and golfing skills on firms’ over/under-investment. We do not find significant evidence to support that CEO’s golfing activities have impact on the extent of firms’ over/under-investment. However, firms with better golfing skill CEOs tend to have smaller over/under-investment. This result suggests golfing skills may contain certain useful characteristics for CEOs to increase the firms’ investment efficiency.
