With many studies found that the air pollution components are different, such as sulfur dioxide (SO2), carbon monoxide (CO), ozone (O3), and nitrogen dioxide (NO2), etc., although these components can cause human respiratory injury, the most adverse health effects to people is that the smaller the particle size of these substances may penetrate into the skin. Such that the particulate matter (Particulate Matter, PM) has become the subject of air pollution research in recent years. Represents the particle diameter of less than 10 microns (PM10), the damage is mainly in the nasopharynx and respiratory tract, and fine suspended particles (PM2.5) represents the particle diameter of less than 2.5 microns will be deposited in the bronchial and alveolar tissue, causing pulmonary edema, Bronchial fibrosis and other symptoms, even if the low concentration also have serious adverse effects of health. Therefore, this paper aims to monitor the PM2.5 concentration, mainly using Arduino Uno development board with Drive Shield, micro motor, Bluetooth module, PM2.5 sensor and smart phone App to implement. The App can search PM2.5 average values for the counties and cities published by "the Environmental Protection Administration Executive Yuan". It can also be connection between Arduino Uno and an Android phone via Bluetooth, and use a touch button to control micro-motor action mode with three-axis accelerometers. PM2.5 sensor’s value can also be through another touch button to decide whether to display in the App screen.
