Summary:碩士 === 中臺科技大學 === 文教事業經營研究所 === 105 === The purpose of this study is to explore the factors that influence junior high school teachers to be homeroom teachers in Taichung and to understand the differences between background variables. For this study, 593 questionnaires were issued and 534 valid questionnaires were collected. The effective response rate is 90%. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA and Chi-Square test. The following conclusions were obtained: First, the homeroom teachers in Taichung junior high school are mostly females, who are in their forties. They have been teaching for more than ten years, less than fifteen years. Most of them are teaching language and have master’s degrees. Second, the major factor that influences teachers to be homeroom teachers is their class management ability. Third, the minor factor that influences teachers to be homeroom teachers is administrative support. Fourth, counseling achievements will affect teachers’ determination of being homeroom teachers. The third influencing factor is a four-level relationship, which consists of teachers, students, parents and administration staff.
