Description
Summary:碩士 === 健行科技大學 === 土木工程系空間資訊與防災科技碩士班 === 105 === The Hou-Ton Cat Village, located in the Ruifang District, New Taipei City, was formed along the old streets around the Hou-Ton station. The villagers led by the local government have been devoted to improving their living surroundings and providing cats friendly living spaces for many years. As a result, the village has become one of popular historical streets in northern Taiwan and was also selected by CNN as one of six-world cat’s paradises. Affected by spatial and temporal background, the historical streets usually do not meet the requirements of the Fire Service Act so as to be vulnerable once struck by a fire. Taking the Hou-Ton old street as an example, this study attempted to explore fire-rescuing strategies of historical streets. Several fire cases of historical streets in Taiwan had been reviewed to learn experiences of fire rescue methods. A field survey was carried out to analyze features of the street, the shops and houses, and the fire water supplies. The strategies were then designed based on the simulation of fire rescue at the Hou-Ton Street. We suggested that the local authority should clamp down on illegal parking especially on holidays and help restore the old buildings to conform the modern fire regulations. The authority should also pay attention to the shortage of firefighters at the primary level of staffing and try to add manpower.
