碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 建築碩士學位學程 === 105 === This research was a follow-up study, based on the recommendations from ‘A Study on the Relationships Between Wayfinding Behavior and Sign System’,Yin-Ru Chen(2002). The purpose of this research was to discover a more efficient way-finding solution in Feng Chia University Library through improving the current directional indicators. In the experiment, under the circumstances of remaining the consistency of overall sign system in the library, the adjustment were focused on strengthen the directionality and identity of current directional indicators: arrow indicators and color difference sign system were designed. The book finding experiment procedure was videoed and illustrated, and questionnaires were conducted to examine if the improvements were effective on reducing way-finding problems. To reduce research errors caused from different familiarity with Feng Chia Library, the subjects were 18 current Feng Chia students and 12 students from other schools. The results revealed that among three different color sign system, color orange gave the less help on way-finding between current Feng Chia school students and other school students; in comparison, color red was the most effective on way-finding.
