For the reasons this research was to investigate the differences of attention restoration effectiveness for edible landscaping and common bedding plant landscaping in the university. Three different treatments including mix planting with edible plants, monoculture edible planting and bedding planting were designed to test their effectiveness on attention restoration respectively and environmental preference. In this study FCU students were selected as respondents by convenience sampling and the questionnaires were distributed and collected on research sites. The results showed that through ANOVA analysis 12 restorative perception factors in three planting types treatment only two items "able to forget all the responsibility" and "able to do my favorite activities," scoring shows no significant difference. Except this two factors the rest of them were highly significant different. Compare the four facets, including being away, extent, fascination and compatibility, of Attention Restoration Theory through ANOVA analysis in three different treatments. The analysis showed the treatment of mix-planted edible landscape has significant better performance than two other treatments in all facets. In the environmental preference, the results of ANOVA analysis showed that there were significant differences between 8 environmental preference questions and 1 landscape preference. Compare the four facets, including consistency, readability, complexity and mystery, of Environmental Preference through ANOVA analysis in three different treatments. The analysis showed the treatment of mix-planted edible landscape has significant better performance than two other treatments in all facets. It is strongly believed that because edible landscape is comparably rare in campus so mix-planted edible landscape has better ability to catch students’ eye and also help restore their attention. To create mix-planted edible landscape moderately in campus is recommended by mentioned above. CHANG,LI-SHIN 張莉欣 2017 學位論文 ; thesis 91 zh-TW
