In recent years, due to the changes in environment and management of an accounting firm, the accounting firm faced with many challenges. This research mainly discusses the external environment changes such as governmental policy, the economic environment and the time change, also along with the increase of organization age, the organizational structure is possible to lose the elasticity gradually, as well as the challenges of recruiting, training and maintaining staff members. In order to reach the goal of keeping sustainability of an accounting firm, the accounting firm should choose the suitable management strategy. This case study interviewed the certified public accountant (CPA) who practices publicly at an accounting firm to understood and analyze the problems and challenges facing by the accounting firm, then induce the solution. The findings show that the CPA must have brand-new thought and manner, strengthens specialized ability, be clear of own superiority and positioning, to separate the market from variation, multiplication and professional services. To meet the customer requirements, the CPA might form an alliance with other CPA who has different specialties, attorney and so on, to provide the innovation service that gain trust and sympathy from customers, then establishes good reputation. To keep an accounting firm grow, understanding staffs’ demand, creating staffs’ happiness, building staff satisfaction to gain the coherence of an accounting firm, recruiting talented staff, then increasing more clients are positive ways to achieve the firm goal.
