The situation causes that traditional TV remote controllers can't meet the need of utility of TVs right now. This study was to discuss smart phones which have four interactive interface - Instructing, Conversing, Exploring and Browsing , and manipulating as the hardware of switching TV channels with the remote. The purpose of this study was to realize and analyze that the most suitable interface for adults and advanced age people through the four interactive TV controllers above. This study set up 56 TV channels when the 40 experimental subjects who were 30 adults and 10 advanced age people chose 10 TV channels from 56 each time through the four interactive modes. The time and the CTR( clickthrough rate) was measured when choosing the TV channels. After the experiments, the experimental subjects had to fill in the mental workload and human reliability evaluation questionnaire. The statistics was gathered and analyzed. There were some conclusions from the result of this research : (1)From the four interactive modes, the time and the CTR of the interaction mode was the least for the adults and advanced age people. (2)There was a distinct difference on the effect of the time from the adults and the advanced age people. The effect of the time it took of the adults was better than that of the advanced age people. (3)There was no clear difference of the CTR between the adults and the advanced people. (4)From the mental workload and human reliability evaluation of the adults and the advanced people, there were some obvious differences between performances and the degree of the frustration. These two indexes of this experiment of the advanced people were better than those of the adults.
