Incremental innovation is vital for the survival and competitiveness of high-tech companies nowadays. The aim of this study is to empirically investigate how innovation and entrepreneurial orientation have impacted the performance of some of the actually most valued high-tech companies in the world. Previous studies have been made on the most successful high-tech companies ruling the industry, analyzing their evolution throughout the years and their corresponding triumphs. However, this Thesis is focused on the relation between those successes and the innovations made along the way. The research is based on the historical analysis of the performance of each company and their groundbreaking achievements, showing their consequences and explaining the causes of their success. Moreover, the study embraces companies from different sectors of the high-tech industry, in order to obtain a wider range of results and to avoid overlapping of the companies’ trajectories. The results obtained from the research mirror different strategies and approaches from the companies examined, regarding innovation, providing a richer and wider understanding of the subject.
