A survey is conducted at the S Branch of New Taipei City. Measurement of the research constructs includes work stress (breaking down into organizational structure and atmosphere, family and working loading, social expectation and role pressure), leadership style (permissive, democratic and authoritarian leadership), and personality traits (internal and external locus of control). Empirical results are as follows: 1. There exists statistically significant differences of perception in the work stress among respondents. 2. The source and importance of police officers' work stress are "role pressure", "family and working loading" and "organizational structure and atmosphere"; 3. Different leadership styles have a significant impact on work stress. 4. Different demographic variables, different leadership style and different personality traits on the impact of work pressure.
