The use of steel structure seems to be a trend of the times. All countries in the world as a building material for the development of steel and cold-formed steel structure are the main promotion of a trend. Therefore, this study is mainly for the new section of “A-type steel structure” which is to explore the use of different cross-sectional size to obtain the cross-section properties and then to calculate the design strength values according to the domestic "cold-formed steel Construction design specifications and explanation of the study", "the American Iron and Steel Association" issued by the cold-formed steel structure design specifications. Moreover, the design strength of the A-type steel structure is deduced, and then the relationship between the design strength and the length of the structure is drawn to facilitate the construction reference. The relationship is as follows: I. The tensile strength is proportional to the size of the section; the tensile strength is proportional to the thickness of the section. II. The pressure intensity is inversely proportional to the length L of the material. III. Flexural strength is proportional to the size of the section; flexural strength is proportional to the thickness of the section. IV. Shear strength is proportional to the size of the section; shear strength is proportional to the thickness of the section. In this study, the A-type steel structure and the traditional C-type steel structure with the same height of 100mm compared with each other are found that the same height of 100mm of the A-type steel and C-type steel structure is slightly equal to the unit of A-type steel structure of the x-axis and y. The difference of moment of inertia between axial-direction is better than that of C-type steel structure. It can be seen that A-type steel structure is more stable in secondary structure than C-type steel structure and should be widely used in engineering. Due to environmental changes, the market demand of cold-formed steel as a sub-structure of the main body is also increasing. According to energy conservation and environmental protection, in the future, we will be able to further explore the construction method of the A-type steel structure in the construction and control the good quality to the sustainable development concept.
