碩士 === 康寧大學 === 企業管理研究所 === 105 === The purpose of the present research is to explore the effects of personality trait, life style, and travel motivation on different backgrounds and willingness of backpackers, as well as the relationship among them. The research was conducted with self-compiled questionnaires entitled with “A Study on the Effects of Personality Trait, Life Style and Travel Motivation upon the Willingness to Backpack Travel”. The research distributed questionnaires throughout travel agencies, and 406 of the questionnaires were valid. All the data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, independent T-Test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson-product moment correlations. The study found that there was no significant difference to the willingness of the subjects with different backgrounds. Among the items of personality trait, there were significant differences in neuroticism, extroversion, openness, affability, conscientiousness and travel willingness of the subjects. This findings also indicated that personality trait had positive affection on the willingness to backpack travel. Among the items of life style, leisure activities, attitude toward adventure and type of socializing showed significant differences and correlation in the willingness of backpack travel as well. Whereas, subjects’ different ideas of money had neither significant difference nor significant correlation in the willingness to backpack travel. Regarding travel motivation, subjects’ feelings toward relaxing, broadening horizons, and improving affections had both significant differences and significant correlation on the willingness to backpack travel. It is hoped that the result of the present study can be taken as a reference for individual to prepare backpack travel, for travel agencies to make marketing strategies, and for related departments of government to make policies in the future.
