Description
Summary:碩士 === 明志科技大學 === 經營管理系碩士班 === 105 === "Fastener" commonly known as "the screw and nut" is called "industrial rice", which is an indispensable basic part in the industry. In Taiwan, Kaohsiung and Tainan areas were shaped ecology environment of fastener industry. Kaohsiung Gangshan was the center of the industrial cluster, created the reputation as "kingdom of fastener" in Taiwan. However, every organization must rely on the resources provided by the external environment to survive. The external environment is constructed by the industrial ecological environment and the macro economic environment. A question was proposed by this study: What are the determinants of organizational founding of the fastener industry in Taiwan? Based on the perspectives of density dependence, niche space, and combined with the macroeconomics, there are three main research questions from this study: (1) whether will deferred effects and current effects of density dependence affect the organizational founding? (2) Whether will niche width and niche overlap density affect the organizational founding? (3) Whether will the macroeconomics moderate the relationship between density dependent and niche space for organizational founding? To answer the aforementioned, this study adopts fastener industry in Taiwan as the analytical samples, the research data are unbalanced longitudinal panel data, which has been collected from 1970 to 2014, and apply the log-logistic hazard function model to examine. Empirical results indicate that: (1) the deferred effects of density dependence has an inverted U-shaped effect on the organizational founding, and the current effects of density dependence has a negative effect on the organizational founding; (2) Relative to the macroeconomics of contraction, in the macroeconomics of expansion, it has a positive effect on the organizational founding; (3) Relative to the macroeconomics of contraction, in the macroeconomics of expansion, the deferred effects of density dependence have positive effect on the organizational founding, and the current effects of density dependence has a negative effect on the organizational founding. These findings are with profound management implications.
