Surface defect modification and subsequently decoration of silver nanoparticles/multi-wall carbon nanotube nanocomposites (Ag/CNT) onto it were been carried out for the modification of the carbon fiber clothes for enhancing the attached capability between substrates and MnO2 materials. In this work, a 3D honeycomb porous MnO2 networks constructed from interconnected MnO2 nanosheets deposited onto Ag/CNT coated texiles (denoted as MnO2-Ag/CNT-CFC*) by a “dipping and drying” process and subsequent electrodeposition was reported. The capacitive performances of the prepared MnO2-Ag/CNT-CFC* was studied by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and galvanostatic charge/discharge measurements in a neutral 0.5 M Na2SO4 aqueous electrolyte. With such porous MnO2 networks and good conductivity of Ag NPs, good specific capacity of 385 F/g at 1A/g and excellent specific capacitance retention of approximately 80% after 5000 cycles at 10 A/g could be performed. These impressive results suggest that this nanocomposite is a promising candidate for use in high performance flexible energy storage applications and will be benefit for building a novel energy storage system.
