However, most new ventures depend on entrepreneurs’ abilities to operate. Therefore, entrepreneurs play particularly important roles in new ventures and entrepreneurship, their entrepreneur orientation and personality traits would affect performance of new ventures. The purpose of this research is to discuss the effect of entrepreneur orientation and personality traits to performance of new ventures, we also examined the moderating effect of personality traits on the entrepreneur orientation and performance of new ventures. This research surveyed 218 entrepreneurs from Taiwan Taichung by using questionnaires. After using hierarchical regression analysis to test the hypothesis, we found entrepreneurs’ innovativeness and risk-taking were positively associated with employee growth, risk-taking and proactiveness were positively associated with profit growth. Furthermore, extraversion and openness to experience were positively associated with profit growth as well. However, conscientiousness was no significant influence to performance of new ventures. According to the research conclusions, we suggest entrepreneurs should keep innovating, reacting to potential opportunities in markets, and taking affordable risks to invest. Moreover, entrepreneurs should open heart and be willing to learn, communicate with others, accept new knowledge, and conduct innovation. Entrepreneurship is hard to succeed at first try. Besides, entrepreneurs’ orientation and personality traits could continuously affect performance of new ventures in a long run. Thus, follow up researches could conduct longitudinal study to discuss the effect of entrepreneur orientation and personality traits on performance of new ventures in a long run. 王精文 2017 學位論文 ; thesis 86 zh-TW
