Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 物理學系所 === 105 === In this work, I study the effect of the polymer concentration on amorphous blue phase liquid crystal (blue phase III, BPIII). A previous study indicates that BPIII can be extended its temperature ranging effective by adding high concentration of polymer, so I references the experimental method of the reference to discuss the correlation between polymer network structure and temperature range and electro-optical properties of BPIII. In this research, I found out that the sample, liquid crystal/ polymer mixture, can not widen the temperature range of BPIII. But when the concentration of bisphenol A dimethacrylate (BAD) was increased, the BPIII exists in a lower temperature and then closed to room temperature.
According to the research, the concentration of polymer significant affect the structure of polymer network. The polymer network of BPIII implys that the BPIII do not has crystal structure. The morphology of polymer network is different when the concentration was changed. The diameter of polymer network increases with increasing the concentration of BAD. The response time do not be influenced when the concentration of BAD was increased, but the ion effect became obvious.
