Many biomedical service engineers have virtually accumulated a lot of job pressure that make retention rate low. It takes a lot of cost of money and time to train an experienced biomedical service engineer. What is the quality of work life of biomedical service engineers? This study divides the needs of quality of work life into three dimensions and is divided into 17 sub-dimensions, individual level (including life support, self-realization demand, training and development, sense of accomplishment, family and work relationship), working level(content of job, sense of burnout, hours and workload, attention of supervisors, supervisors'' leadership, working environment, job security), and organizational level (including promotion opportunities, corporate system, salary and benefits, interpersonal relationships, corporate culture). Semi-structure depth interview is used to explore the need of quality of the biomedical service engineer. At the individual level, the personality traits of interviewees determine their own needs. The potential and need of self-actualization need to be inspired for biomedical service engineers by the design of work. Customized training implementation and training assessments for different personal traits are needed for personal development and the ultimate goal are to maintain a balance between family and work relationships. At the job level, the content of job provides more opportunities of job rotation, reduce unpredictability, urgency, the future of the confusion and occupation of family time to reduce the sense of job burnout, strengthen internal and external interaction and communication skills.
